Designed to meet the increasing demand from both commercial and in-house print service providers (PSPs) for higher production volumes without compromising on quality, the C10000VP series sets new standards in image quality and productivity by introducing technological innovations that enhance throughput, ensure reliably consistent colour and more accurate registration control and deliver flexible media handling and finishing.
The new flagship device builds on the success of the imagePRESS range, which, since its launch in 2006, has established an enviable reputation for robust production presses with a proven track record for reliability and quality. Demonstrating the confidence users have in the technology, 40,000 colour imagePRESS devices have been installed worldwide* to date, with more than 2000 C800 series devices alone sold across Europe since its launch just over a year ago (July 2014). Through investing in Canon imagePRESS technology and support services, thousands of printers across Europe have successfully grown their businesses with new applications and increased productivity.
Now, delivering unparalleled quality and productivity in its class, the imagePRESS C10000VP combines both new features with proven technology to open doors for customers in a new market segment.
Optimum productivity and versatility
Rated at speeds of up to 100 impressions per minute irrespective of media weight up to 350gsm, the imagePRESS C10000VP maintains productivity even on long-run or mixed media jobs, including speciality stocks such as synthetic media. The Consistently Vivid (CV) toner offers improved transfer efficiency and a lower fixing temperature, delivering vibrant image quality even on textured media. A new air compressor also makes it possible to print onto thin coated media as light as 70gsm.
The device offers significant versatility thanks to its finishing options, which include a new professional puncher that supports a greater range of media sizes and a new inline creasing functionality. A choice of digital front end controllers – Canon’s PRISMAsync or the new EFI Fiery FS200 Pro – enables PSPs to select the right RIP and controller to streamline their workflow.
Outstanding image quality and predictable colour consistency
The imagePRESS C10000VP takes image quality to the next level, setting a new benchmark in the 100 page-per-minute segment. Featuring the same CV toner and 32-beam Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) technology as the successful imagePRESS C800 series, the imagePRESS C10000VP offers 2,400 x 2,400 dpi print resolution and vivid output quality.
A new developer unit maintains colour consistency, ensuring stable output even over long runs. This is further enhanced by the introduction of new Multi Density Adjustment Technology that allows for automatic real-time density correction, as well as an in-line spectroscopic sensor that enables daily colour calibration.
The imagePRESS C10000VP helps PSPs ensure ‘right-first-time’ output with a second transfer belt that improves control over registration, as well as new Simple Registration Control technology, which helps PSPs to maximise their productivity by enabling quicker and easier registration adjustments.
Mark Lawn, European Professional Print Director, Canon Europe said: “Optimising productivity is business-critical for PSPs, so they need a solution they can rely on to deliver outstanding image quality, predictable colour consistency and accurate registration on whatever media they choose without compromising on speed. The new imagePRESS C10000VP perfectly addresses these needs.
“Through Canon’s continuous innovation in the imagePRESS range, the devices have been instrumental in allowing customers to exploit the growth in the colour production market. The new flagship imagePRESS C10000VP now heads a formidable line-up and further demonstrates Canon’s ongoing commitment to addressing customer demand. It is ideal both for existing customers who have grown their print volumes with the imagePRESS series and are now looking for the next step in high quality colour productivity, as well as for other PSPs who want to take advantage of changing market demands.”
The imagePRESS C10000VP will be available from October 2015 and will make its European debut at Canon EXPO in Paris later this year.
