1. PROMOTER AND PARTICIPANTS
1.1. The Promoter is Canon Europa N.V and registered at Bovenkerkerweg 59, 1185 XB, Amstelveen, the Netherlands (“Canon”).
1.2. All entrants (“Participants”) must be residents of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and U.A.E aged 18 and over at the time of competition entry. The winner may be required to submit proof of age.
1.3. Employees of Canon, its subsidiary companies, their families, agents and other parties directly involved with this Competition are not eligible to enter.
1.4. By entering this Competition, all Participants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions unless notified otherwise in writing.

2. THE COMPETITION
2.1. Canon runs this photography competition that gives participants a chance to win Canon photo-cameras listed in the section 6 of these Terms & Conditions and the opportunity to take part in a hands-on masterclass with a Canon Professional (“Competition”).
2.2. No purchase is necessary, it is free to enter this Competition.
2.3. By submitting images to enter this Competition, all Participants are deemed to:
2.3.1 Have granted Canon permission to use Media provided for the Competition on Canon owned internet sites (including intranet and extranet), social media and other accounts available now or in the future, including TikTok, Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and to use it in connection with this Competition without limitation (this may include future publication, articles or editorials in reference to this Competition); and
2.3.2 Participate in an interview and/or press release at a time mutually agreed upon between Canon and the Participant.

3. HOW TO PARTICIPATE
3.1. To enter the Competition, visit the competition page, complete the form and you must: (i) upload your favourite photo or if applicable a video which represents your interpretation of ‘The Mirror Selfie’ and ‘Forced Perspective’ (“Challenge(s)”) and complete the form between the 24th August 2020 at 09:00 Central European Summer Time and the 21st September 2020 at 23:59 Central European Summer Time (“Competition Period”).
3.2. Participants may enter up to 1 photo or video (“Media”) per Challenge, but prizes will be strictly limited to one per person;
3.3. Incomplete, invalid or inappropriate entries, or entries received after the closing date 21st September 2020 will not be eligible for publication or any prize;
3.4. All entries must be received during the Competition Period described above. Any submissions received outside of the Competition Period will not be accepted for entry to the Competition.

4. COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS
4.1. The Media must be original and taken by the Participants;
4.2. The Media submitted by the Participants must not contain:
i) recognisable persons, unless Participants can demonstrate that such persons have granted all the necessary permissions for their image to be used in the Media and published by Canon under Clause 2.3 of these terms and conditions; or
ii) works of art; unless Participants can demonstrate that Participants have been granted a licence to have such works of art used in the Media and published by Canon under Clause 2.3 of these terms and conditions; or
iii) trademarks, logos or brand names unless Participants can demonstrate that Participants have been granted a licence to have such logo or brand names used and published by Canon under Clause 2.3 of these terms and conditions; or
iv) image featuring nudity or anything which may be considered obscene, immoral or in any way inappropriate or illegal; or
v) anything that may infringe the rights of any third party;
vi) content that is offensive or could negatively on the name, reputation or goodwill of Canon or any brand partner
vii) defames, misrepresents or insults other people or companies, including, but not limited to Canon (including its partners); or pmotes any political agenda.
4.3. You also agree to be contacted by Canon for the purposes of administrating the Competition or in the event that Canon wishes to discuss any other use of the Media submitted to the Competition. 4.4. Canon reserves the right to disqualify incomplete or illegible entries or which do otherwise not meet the above requirements.
4.5. Canon accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, corrupted or fail to reach Canon by the closing date for any reason (including any problems encountered on any network or computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment or software, failure of any entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet, telephone lines or at any web site, or any combination of these.)
4.6. The Participants must have a valid Instagram account.

5. WARRANTIES
By submitting its entry
The Participants warrant that:
- the entrant is the sole author of the Media;
- the entrant is the owner of the proprietary rights in the Media;
- the Media and any element appearing in it do not infringe the rights (including intellectual property rights) of any third party;
- in the case where a person or person’s image appears in the Media, the entrant has obtained written permission from those person(s) for Canon to use their image(s) as described in these terms and conditions; and
- in the case where the Media has been taken in another country than in the country of the Participant’s residence the entrant has complied with the law applicable to such country, including but not limited to any intellectual property and proprietary legal requirements.
- it is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that the relevant permission has been sought, model release forms have been satisfactorily completed and that copyright is not infringed.
Canon warrants that:
- it shall act within the scope of the rights granted under these terms and conditions;
- Subject to the clause 9 Canon reserves the right to re-post, display, reproduce or publish, or give permission to display reproduce or publish in full or cropped any entry without payment to the author of the Media.

6. THE PRIZE
6.1. The overall winners will receive:
6.1.1 There will be two (2), first tier prize winners and each will be awarded;
i) Canon EOS M200, Canon Zoemini S, 2 Canon ZINK™ 2"x3" Photo Paper x 50 sheets, Canon IVY REC;
ii)A masterclass with a professional photographer chosen by Canon (“Canon Professional”); and
iii)Your winning story featured on our Canon media channels (“Prize”).
6.1.2 There will be thirty (30), second-tier winners and they will be awarded at random one of the following products:
i) SELPHY QX10 or Canon Ivy Rec or Zoemini S or Zoemini C or Canon Zoemini or Canon CP1300 (“Prize”).
6.2. Canon reserves the right to publish the name and country of the winners or to publicise any prize giving presentation after the date of the Competition. Canon will notify the winners via email. If the winners does not wish such details to be published, they must advise Canon at time of being notified that they have won.
6.3. Furthermore, Canon shall have the right to shoot “behind the scenes” video and images of the masterclass session described in clause 6.1.1(ii) above and to use such video in whole or part as it deems best but for only legal circumstances.
6.4. The Prize is non-transferable and no cash or credit alternatives will be substituted for the Prize on offer. In the event that the Prize offered is unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control, Canon reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
6.5. The Prize will be posted to the winners within 30 days after the winners are announced unless a delivery is delayed due to ALforce majeure including but not limited to natural disaster or pandemic. 6.6. The name of the winners will be published, subject to the winners providing to Canon such permission, on 7th October 2020 on our website.
6.7. The Prize is strictly as stated above and is non-transferable with absolutely no cash, credit or other alternative prize available for substitution of the prize on offer.
6.8. Any rejected or unclaimed Prize may be awarded to other entrants at the absolute and sole discretion of Canon.
6.9. A winner awarded a first-tier prize, will have the masterclass with a Canon Professional in their country of residence where possible. If required, Canon will be responsible for travel arrangements and expenses for up to 100 Euros.
6.10. The masterclass must take place within the month of October 2020. Due to the ongoing global pandemic of Covid-19, if the masterclass cannot occur due to circumstances beyond Canon’s control such as travel restrictions or local government guidelines, the masterclass will take place in an online setting such as Microsoft Teams.

7. SELECTION
7.1 The Competition will be judged by Canon and independent professionals from various backgrounds within imaging.
Judges will rate entrants on;
Understanding of the challenge theme – How well the challenge has been understood?
Creativity – How different is the submission against what is often seen on social media. Is your entry fresh and original?
Impact – What emotions or reactions are evoked from the submission. Is the submission amusing, emotional, thought provoking, emotional, entertainingly?
Story Telling – Does the submission spark imagination?
Style – Is the submission original and present a fresh take on a traditional style?
7.2 The winners will be selected between the 22nd and 25th September 2020.
7.3 The winners of the Competition will be notified the week commencing 28 September 2020. In the event that the winner selection is delayed due to a technical failure or any other reason Canon shall conduct the Competition as soon as it is reasonably practicable to do so and accepts no liability for any such delay. The judges’ decision is final and no discussion or correspondence will be entered into by Canon.
7.4 The winners must confirm acceptance of the Prize within 5 (five) calendar days after they have been notified of winning the Competition by Canon.

8. PERSONAL DATA
Canon Europa N.V., 59 Bovenkerkerweg, 1185 XB, The Netherlands, is the Data Controller in respect of any personal data supplied by Participants. The personal data provided is held securely and may be transferred on a secure server outside the EEA. The personal data collected from Participants is subject to the Canon Consumer Privacy Policy.

9. DISCLAIMER
9.1. Canon reserves the right to refuse to honour any entry or to recover the full value of any prize if it considers there has been an abuse or breach of the terms and conditions of this Competition.
9.2. Canon shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature howsoever caused, sustained by any participant under this Competition. However, nothing in these rules shall have the effect of excluding or restricting Canon liability for personal injury or death caused by the proven negligence of its employees or contractors.
9.3. In the event of a dispute over interpretation or implementation of the rules on any matter related to the Competition, the decision of the Directors of Canon is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9.4. If any part of these conditions is found by a court of competent jurisdiction or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, then such part shall be severed from the remainder of these conditions, which shall continue to be valid to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. JURISDICTION
As you are a participating consumer, laws of your country of residence will apply to this Competition, and You may be entitled to bring court proceedings in your own language and in your local courts. A local consumer advice organization will be able to advise you on your rights. These terms do not restrict any statutory rights that may be applicable.
